Jump to navigationJump to searchSamuel6 Whitney (Samuel5, Abraham4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of Samuel5 and ----- (-----) Whitney, was born 10 Feb 1779, (probably Norwalk,) CT, and died 5 Feb 1864, North East Harbor, NS, 5 Feb 1864, aged 85 years.
He married, North East Harbor, NS, Margaret Swain, daughter of John and Jerusha (Snow) Swain. She was born 23 Mar 1782, North East Harbor, NS, and died 9 Jan 1864, North East Harbor, NS, aged nearly 79 years.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a mariner and fisherman; went with his father, at the close of the Revolutionary War, to St. John, New Brunswick, and lived, during most of his minority, with Silas Ferry, of Roseway, Shelburn Co., Nova Scotia. He settled at North East Harbor . . . . They were buried at North East Harbor."

Samuel Whitney, b. 13 Apr 1811; m. Lydia King. v. Jerusha Whitney, b. 17 Feb 1813; m. Alexander Reid Greenwood. vi. Elisha Dexter Whitney, b. 30 Oct 1814; d. 15 Sep 1827, North East Harbor, NS, and was buried there.
