Samuel4 Whitney (Joshua3, David2, Samuel1), was born circa 1720, Bermuda, and died say 1780.
He married Agnes Bynum, daughter of James Bynum.
Children of Samuel and Agnes (Bynum) Whitney:
i. John5 Whitney, b. 23 Mar 1749/50, NC. ii. (perhaps) Samuel Whitney, d. ca. 1794, Martin Co., NC; apparently unmarried. iii. (perhaps) Mary Whitney, m. ----- Joyner. This was probably Thomas Joyner whose sister Winnefred married George Forrest, the "friend" listed in Mary's brother Samuel Whitney's will. Mary Whitney Joyner had a son Whitney Joyner, enumerated alone on the 1810 census in Martin Co., NC, age 26-45 (b. ca. 1765-1784). iv. (perhaps) Elizabeth Whitney, m. ----- Reaves.
Note: Samuel Whitney mentions his two sisters in his will. If he does belong to this family, then they do as well.
Note: Samuel's son John had a grandson named Reaves Whitney, which may indicate that Elizabeth (Whitney) Reaves does belong to this family.
