Silas7 Whitney (Daniel Hobbs6, Joshua5, Joshua4, Joshua3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Daniel Hobbs6 and Irene (Morse) Whitney, was born 18 Nov 1810, Medway, MA,[1] and died 27 Apr 1888, Attleborough, MA, aged 83 years 5 months, of old age.[2]

He married 9 Nov 1835, Wrentham, MA, Anna Handy,[3] daughter of ----- and Martha (-----) Handy. She was born about 1819, Warren or Pawtucket, MA, and died 10 Dec 1854, Franklin, MA, aged 35 years, of consumption.[4]

Some records call him "Silas F.", some "Silas S.", and some merely "Silas".

ii. Silas Jefferson Whitney, b. 25 May 1843, Wrentham, MA;[6] m. Barbara Harriet Stewartson.
iii. Horace Messinger Whitney, b. 30 May 1846, Wrentham, MA;[7] m. Clementine A. Hull.
iv. Charles Henry Whitney, b. 20 Feb 1849, Wrentham, MA (also recorded at Foxborough and Franklin);[8] d. after 1900, then unmarried.
v. Hiram Smith Whitney, b. Jun 1851, Wrenthampage 237 or Foxborough, MA; d. 9 Jun 1868, Attleborough MA, aged 17 years 10 months 15 days, of drowning; unmarried.[9] His birth is recorded as Jun 1851, Wrentham, MA.[10]
