Family:Whitney, Silas (1811-1890)
Silas8 Whitney (William7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of William7 and Lucy (Brooks) Whitney, was born 26 May 1811, Ashburnham, MA,[1] and died 13 Dec 1890, Fitchburg or Leominster, MA, aged 79 years 6 months 17 days, of general debility.[2]
He married firstly, 1844, Susan M. Eddy. She was born about 1822, Plattsburg, NY, and died 28 Jun 1856, Fitchburg, MA, aged 34 years, of chronic diarrhea.[3]
He married secondly, 16 Dec 1858, Ashburnham, MA, Mary E.7 Whitney, daughter of Abijah6 and Betsey7 (Whitney) Whitney.[4] She was born 19 Jul 1828, Leominster, MA, and died 1 Apr 1887, Fitchburg, MA, aged 58 years 5 months 13 days, of pneumonia.[5]
He resided Fitchburg, MA.

Silas Eddy Whitney, b. 1 Nov 1850, Fitchburg, MA;[11] d. 19 Aug 1851, Fitchburg, MA, aged 9 months 15 days, of consumption.[12] iv. Susan Emily Whitney, b. 24 May 1856, Fitchburg, MA;[13] m. 24 Nov 1881, Fitchburg, MA, William N. Hyatt, b. ca. 1860, Lunenburg, MA, son of George W. and Sarah A. (-----) Hyatt.[14]
