Thaddeus L.8 Whitney (Rufus7, Abel6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Rufus7 and Sally (Holden) Whitney, was born about 1821, (possibly Athens,) VT, and died 11 May 1899, Landis, NJ, aged 78 years.[1]

He married, 3 Feb 1846, Worcester, MA, Elizabeth Sophia Knight, daughter of Erastus and Lucy (Smith) Knight.[2] She was born 21 Oct 1821, Chesterfield, MA, and died after 1870, and possibly after 1880, when her husband reported himself married and not widowed.

He is listed in city directories:

Notes

A great-great-grandson on Ancestry.com says his middle name was Lorenzo.
