Family:Whitney, Theodore Beecher (1840-1894)

Theodore Beecher⁸ Whitney (Abel⁷, James⁶, Samuel⁵, Samuel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Abel⁷ and Elvira Triphosa (Beecher) Whitney, was born 21 Apr 1840, Bridgewater, CT, and died 8 Aug 1894, Fairdale, NE. He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Scotia, NE.^[1]

He married firstly, 6 Dec 1866, Wakeman, OH, Mary Elizabeth Parker, daughter of Zachariah and Sabrina (Higgins) Parker. She was born 15 Feb 1841, Florence, OH, and died 29 Oct 1888, Fairdale, NE. She was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Scotia, NE.^[2]

He married secondly, 28 Mar 1894, Saint Paul, NE, Catherine P. Newhall,^[3] daughter of Joseph W. and Susan L. (Hobbie) Newhall. She was born 29 Apr 1866, Waltham, MA, and died after 1900.

He was in the Civil war; resided Wakeman, OH.

Phoenix says the following:

"Theodore Beecher Whitney, b. in Bridgewater, Conn., 21 Ap. 1840; a farmer; married at Wakeman, Ohio, 6 Dec. 1866, by Rev. Joel Talcott, Presbyterian, to Mary Elizabeth Parker, dau. of Zachariah and Sabrina (Higgins) Parker, or Florence, Ohio, where she was born 15 Feb. 1841. They settled in Wakeman, and were living there in 1874. He was a soldier in the war of 1861."

iii.	Ollie May Whitney, b. 30 Aug 1872, Wakeman, OH; m. 4 Sep 1895, Wakeman, OH, Charles Augustus Cooley.
iv.	Aura Belle Whitney, b. Feb 1875, Wakeman, OH; m. 1899, Fairdale, NE, George F. Alexander.
