Thomas Whitney (Aaron, Joseph), son of Aaron and Rachel (Poindexter) Whitney, was born circa 1819, TN, and died before 1860, probably NE.
He married, circa 1845, Susan Jones.[1] She was born circa 1812, KY. She had married (1) John or Silas Combs.
He may have been the "Thomas J. Whitney of Howard County, Missouri" who purchased a little over 36 acres on 10 Nov 1841.[2]
He was probably the "Thomas J. Whitney of Holt County, Missouri" who purchased a little over 24 acres on 1 Oct 1852.[3]

Could be related to Wade H. Whitney, who married Melissa Combs in Holt County, Missouri in 1853? Melissa Combs was Thomas' step-daughter. He could also be related to Tolbert and Joseph Whitney of Sugar Creek, Barry County, Missouri.
