Family:Whitney, Uriah (1794-1880)
Uriah6 Whitney (John5, Samuel4, Joshua3, David2, Samuel1), son of John5 and Ann (Merritt) Whitney, was born Oct 1794, SC,[1] and died 13 Sep 1880, Allen Co., KY.[2]
He married, first, 27 Jun 1833, Allen Co., KY, Elizabeth Holder.[3] She was b. 28 Mar 1810, KY,[4] d. 27 Sep 1853, Allen Co., KY.[5] Their marriage license was dated 26 Jun 1833.[6]
He was perhaps the Uriah Whitney who obtained a license to marry Eliza Jane McGuire 17 Dec 1858, Allen Co., KY.[7] If he did marry her, it appears that she died before 1860.
He was perhaps the Uriah Whitney who obtained a license to marry Kitty A. McGuire, 16 Apr 1861, Allen Co., KY.[8] This was perhaps the "K. A. Maguire", b. ca. 1844, KY, enumerated in Gainesville, Allen Co., KY with per apparent parents John and Elizabeth Maguire in 1860.
He married, next, before 1880, Barthena P. Sanders.[9] She was born circa 1855, KY,[10] died after 1880.[11]
Uriah Whitney's will was written 29 Aug 1879 and probated 11 Oct 1880. It lists his wife Berthena and daughter Louisa Whitney.[12]
There were no known children of Uriah6 and Elizabeth (Holder) Whitney.
There were no known children of Uriah6 and Eliza Jane (McGuire) Whitney.
