He married, 28 Sep 1862, Wayland, MI, Lovina McBride, daughter of James and Caroline (Fry) McBride, of Hopkins, MI. She was born 12 Dec 1842, and died after 1880.
He resided Rock Falls, IL.
Phoenix says the following:
- "William Bevins Whitney, b. at Thornapple, in Ada, Mich., 27 March 1842; a sawyer; married at Wayland, Mich., 28 Sept. 1862, Lovina McBride, born 12 Dec. 1842, dau. of James and Caroline (Fry) McBride, of Hopkins, Mich. They lived at Rock Falls, Ill., in 1874."
