William H.8 Whitney (Ezekiel Hoyt7, Ezekiel6, Ezekiel5, Ezekiel4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), son of Ezekiel Hoyt7, was born 5 Jul 1807, Columbia Co., NY, and died in 1863.
He married, say 1828, Sarah Weldon/Waldon/Walden. She was born about 1803, 1805, 1806, or 1815, Saratoga Co., NY, and died 18 May 1874, aged 70 years. She was buried in Union Cemetery, Crescent, NY.[1]

There was a different William H. Whitney with wife Sarah was born about 1804, Madison Co., NY, had a daughter Frances, and was living in Westmoreland, Oneida Co., NY, in 1855.
Another different William H. Whitney with a wife Sarah J., who served in the Civil War. He applied for an invalid pension 21 Dec 1892, from New York. He served in Co. B, 50th NY Engineers, Application #142,138, Certificate #973,615. His widow applied for a widow's pension 3 Jul 1914, also from NY, Application #1,030,711, Certificate #785,788.
There was still another different William H. Whitney with a wife Sarah A., who served in Cos. D and G, 24 Mass. Infantry, whose widow applied from a pension from Florida on 18 Feb 1911, Application #958,856.
