Family:Whitney, William M. (1795-1882)

William M.⁶ Whitney (Joshua⁵, Joshua⁴, David³, Joshua², John¹), son of Joshua⁵ and Sally (Cochran) Whitney, was born 24 May 1795, Addison County, VT, and died 6 Feb 1882, Warren Co., IA, aged 86 years 8 months 12 days. He was buried in the IOOF Cemetery, Indianola, IA.

He married, 29 Jan 1833, Warren County, OH, Martha Ann Perlee. She was born about 10 Aug 1804, OH, and died between 30 Jul 1871, Warren Co., IA, aged 66 years 11 months 20 days. She was buried in the IOOF Cemetery, Indianola, IA.

He was a farmer all his life; was born in Vermont, where he resided for twenty-two years, lived in Ohio for thirty-seven years, Iowa seventeen years, and Kansas until his decease; resided Glen Elder, KS.
