Mary Jane Whitney Anderson's parentage is listed in DAR records under Nannie C Anderson Roberts, DAR ID number 115350. It states lineage as Robert James Anderson (1813-90) m. Mary Jane Whitney; William W Whitney m 1809 Nancy Simpson; Amos Whitney m Ann Weston; Amos Whitney 1752-1898.[1]

i. Mary Jane7 Whitney, b. 1823, Cincinnati, OH; d. 1910; m. 17 Jul 1839, Hamilton Co., OH, Robert Anderson. Robert James Anderson was born in Ireland and his family first immigrated to Canada and went to Cincinnati in 1838. He is listed in 1840 census quite close to a William Whitney. Robert and Mary Jane are listed in 1850 census with 5 children. His occupation is agent. The family moved to Keokuk, Lee Co., IA, in 1857, but moved on to Clark Co., MO, from 1860 to 1867. By 1885 they returned to Keokuk, Lee Co., IA. Children: a. Joseph G. Anderson, b. 1848; d. 1889; a prominent lawyer. b. Nannie C. Anderson, b. -----; m. William J. Roberts, and joined the D.A.R.
