Zachariah4 Whitney (Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), son of Ebenezer3 and Anna (-----) Whitney, was born circa 1701, Concord, MA.

Zachariah married, 30 Jul 1730, Pomfret, CT, Ruth Taylor,[1] daughter of Samuel and Mary (Robbins) Taylor. She was born 15 Sep 1704, Woodstock, CT.

Pierce says the following:[2]

It is not learned where Zachariah WHITNEY was born, but probably in some town in Massachusetts to which place his parents removed prior to relocating in Pomfret. In 1742 he withdrew from the church there and at that time was one of the "Separists".

iv. Aaron Whitney, b. 1 Nov 1737;[6] m. Mary Peck.
v. Ephraim Whitney, b. 27 Apr 1740;[7] m. Rhoda Taylor.
vi. Joseph Whitney, b. 5 Nov 1743.[8] He and Joseph Whitney of Keene, NH, are possibly the same person. He and a different Joseph Whitney are identified by Pierce.
vii. Benjamin Whitney, b. 5 Nov 1743.[9] He and Benjamin Whitney of Keene, NH, etc., are possibly the same person.
viii. Ruth Whitney, b. 5 Apr 1746;[10] "of Pomfret" m. 10 Mar 1790, Canterbury, CT, Peter Woodward.[11]
ix. Ebenezer Whitney, b. 25 Mar 1750; d. 11 Mar 1756.[12]
