Amos7 Whitney (Moses6, Abraham5, John4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Moses6 and Jane (Polley) Whitney, was born about 1812, and apparently died before 1850.

He married firstly, 16 Oct 1832, Watertown, MA, Susan Lawrence. She died 4 Sep 1842, Wayland, MA, aged 32 years.[1]

He married secondly, 20 Nov 1842, Medford, MA, Jane Dearborn,[2] daughter of Daniel and Jane (Blanchard) Dearborn. She was born about 1811 or 1814, Northfield, NH, and died 27 Jan 1875, Medway, MA, aged 64 years, of dropsy.[3]

He resided Wayland, MA.

No record of children of Amos7 Whitney has been found. It is very likely that he was identical to Amos, the father of Mary Whitney, b. ca. 1835, Wayland, MA, who m. 25 Sep 1851, Medway, MA, Stephen H. Wood.[4] It is also likely that Edward Whitney, b. ca. 1848, appearing in the 1860 census below, was actually Edward Westcott, not Whitney, as in the 1850 and 1855 census records.
