Carson Willard8 Whitney (Solomon7, Solomon6, Tarball5, Solomon4, David3, Joshua2, John1), son of Solomon7 and Sarah (Struble) Whitney, was born 19 Nov 1858, Van Buren, IN.
He married, 16 Jun 1881, White Pigeon, MI, Minnie Rathfon. She was born 7 Jun 1862, Mottville, MI.
He was born in Van Buren, LaGrange County, IN; by the death of his mother he was left without maternal care at the early age of one year. He lived with his grandparents for five years, and subsequently with some of his uncles. At the age of eighteen he learned telegraphy, and soon became connected with the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway at Vistula, IN. Later he entered the employ of the Chicago & Western Indiana R. R., and is now employed by this company; resided Hammond, IN.
