Charles Frederick⁹ Whitney (Isaac Smith⁸, Levi⁷, Reuben⁶, Abel⁵, Nathan⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Isaac Smith⁸ and Mary E. (Mitchell) Whitney, was born Jun 1859, Pittston, ME, and died 1949.

He married, 6 Jun 1883, Salem, MA, Martha Ella Cressey, daughter of Thomas E. and Susan J. (Hale) Cressey.^[1] She was born Aug 1858, Peabody, MA, and died 30 Mar 1907, Salem, MA, aged 48 years 7 months 9 days, of cancer of the breast.^[2]
