Charles H.9 Whitney (Levi S.8, Joel7, Elijah6, Thomas5, Thomas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of Levi S.8 and Sarah Eddy (Knapp) Whitney, was born 13 Feb 1846, Webster, MA,[1] and died 30 Sep 1919, Webster, MA.

He married firstly, 29 Mar 1869, Webster, MA, Caroline E. Googins, daughter of William H. and Matilda (Wood) Googins.[2] She was born 12 Apr 1852, Boston, MA, and died after 1876. Apparently they were divorced, since she married secondly, 18 Oct 1876, Webster, MA, James Briggs Smith, son of Oliver and Eliza (-----) Smith, born about 1846, RI.[3]

He married secondly, 1875, Hattie O. -----. She was born about 1855, MA, and died after 1910.

i. Edith Marion10 Whitney, b. 8 May 1870, Webster, MA;[4] "Minnie" d. 17 Mar 1872, Webster, MA, aged 10 months 9 days, of lung fever.[5]
