Francis Herbert⁸ Whitney (William Dexter⁷, Stephen⁶, Stephen⁵, John⁴, Benjamin³, John², John¹), son of William Dexter⁷ and Harriet (Hawks) Whitney, was born 23 Jun 1849, Lancaster, MA, and died before 1906.

He married, 12 Jul 1872, Marlborough, MA, Lucy M. Howe, daughter of Lyman W. and Lucy A. (Sherman) Howe.^[1] She was born about 16 Feb 1852, Marlborough, MA, and died 30 Dec 1906, Marlborough, MA, aged 54 years 10 months 14 days, of heart disease.^[2]

He resided Howes Court, Marlborough, MA.
