Family:Whitney, George G. (1838-1902)

George G.² Whitney (Patrick¹), son of Patrick¹ and Mary (Paskee) Whitney (born Ireland and England, respectively), was born May 1838, Prince Edward Island, Canada, and died 12 Aug 1902, Watertown, MA, aged 54 years, of valvular disease of heart.^[1]

He married, about 1867, Susanna Gregory, parentage unknown (born Prince Edward Island and Ireland, respectively). She was born Feb 1856, Prince Edward Island, Canada, and died after 1920.

At death he was a gardener living in Watertown, MA.

He and his wife immigrated to the United States in 1888.

Children of George G.² and Susanna (Gregory) Whitney (the 1910 census says there were eight, four living):

i.	Peter A.3 Whitney, b. Feb 1871, PEI; d. aft. 1910; m. 18 Oct 1909, Somerville, MA [also recorded in Watertown, MA], Sarah Frances McGue, b. ca. 1878, Cambridge, MA, dau. of Thomas and Mary Ann (McGuire) McGue.[2]
ii.	Jennie Victoria Whitney, b. Jul 1876, PEI; d. 21 Oct 1909, Watertown, MA;[3] bur. St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown, MA; m. 21 Jan 1894, Watertown, MA, William Gardner, b. ca. 1866, Augusta, ME, son of William and Abby (Washburn) Gardner.[4]
iii.	Mary Whitney, b. ca. 22 Feb 1877, PEI; d. 4 Nov 1911, Boston, MA, aged 34 years 8 months 12 days, of septicaemia;[5] m. Frederick Campbell.
iv.	Susan Irene Whitney, b. 2 Jul 1881, Surrey, PEI; d. 29 Apr 1925, North La Junta, CO; "Susie Irene" m.(1) 21 Jan 1894, Watertown, MA, Patrick Jordan, b. ca. 1872, Scranton, PA, son of John J. and Mary (Ford) Jordan;[6] divorced; m.(2) 22 Feb 1909, Maynard, MA, or Watertown, MA, Albertus Manley Linn, b. ca. 1882, Hartland, ME, son of William and Lucinda H. (Green) Linn.[7]
v.	Mary C. Whitney, b. ca. 1882, Charlottetown, PEI; m.(1) 14 Feb 1893, Boston, MA, Charles F. Richardson; m.(2) 16 Dec 1910, Boston, MA [also recorded at Watertown, MA], Prescott Wayland Chisholm, b. 12 Jul 1869, Newton, MA, son of Alexander and Jane (Campbell) Chisholm.[8] Prescott Chisholm was a surveyor.
