George Thompson9 Whitney (Nathaniel Gerry8, Joseph7, Nathaniel6, Nathaniel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Nathaniel Gerry8 and Charlotte (Thompson) Whitney, was born 11 Oct 1838, Northbridge, MA,[1] and died after 1900.

He married firstly, 23 Nov 1864, Mary Eliot Putnam, daughter of Jasper N. and Mary (Kimball) Putnam. She was born 1 May 1842, Grafton N.E. Village, MA, and died 6 Dec 1874, Worcester, MA, aged 32 years 7 months 5 days, of consumption.[2]

He "of Northbridge" married secondly, 8 Oct 1879, Worcester, MA, Augusta P. (Kenyon) Aldrich,[3] daughter of Nelson and Lydia A. (-----) Kenyon. She was born about 1846, Newark, OH. She had married firstly, 22 Feb 1869, Uxbridge, MA, Austin J. Aldrich, who died 14 Aug 1875, Northbridge, MA.

He is an officer at the Worcester county jail; resided Northbridge, MA, and 135 Chandler St., Worcester, MA.

ii. Harland K. Whitney, b. 7 May 1868, Westborough, MA;[6] m. May M. Cooley.
iii. George Howard Whitney, b. 22 Mar 1871, Westborough, MA;[7] d. 2 Nov 1872, Westborough, MA, aged 1 year 7 months 10 days, of congestion of the brain.[8]
iv. Arthur Kimball Whitney, b. 26 Mar 1873, Westborough, MA;[9] d. aft. 1900; address, 18 Post-office square, Boston, MA.

Child of Austin J. and Augusta P. (Kenyon) Aldrich:

i. Maud Augusta Aldrich, b. 19 Nov 1873, Worcester, MA; m. 22 Oct 1896, Worcester, MA, Charles Eugene Holton.

George Thompson9 and Augusta P. (Kenyon)(Aldrich) Whitney had no known children.
