Henry Delos⁷ Whitney (Hiram Smith⁶, Henry⁵, Henry⁴, Henry³, John², Henry¹), son of Hiram Smith⁶ and Lucina (Bovee) Whitney, was born 14 Aug 1846, Sidney, NY, and died said 23 Feb 1900, but appears in 1900 and 1905 census.

He married, 18 Oct 1870, Oneonta, NY, Hannah Strait, daughter of Alvinza and Hannah (Van Woert) Strait. She was born 2 Mar 1852, West Oneonta, NY, and died 24 Dec 1904, Oneonta, NY.

They resided Oneonta, NY, May 1875, without children. He was then employed on the Albany and Susquehanna Railway. In 1900 he resided at 5 Academy St., Oneonta, and was a railroad engineer.

i.	Alida7 Whitney, b. ca. 1876, NY. In 1900, Hannah reported that she had had no children, so Alida must have been adopted.
