Horace8 Whitney (Horace7, Moses6, Abraham5, John4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Horace7 and Sarah Ann (Porter) Whitney, was born about 16 Jun 1843, Newton, MA, and died 3 Feb 1874, Clinton, MA, aged 30 years 6 months 17 days, or heart disease, machinist.[1]

He married, 1 Nov 1873, Natick, MA, Ellen Louisa Mitchell, both of Clinton, daughter of James M. and Eliza (Wallace) Mitchell.[2] She was born 4 Sep 1848, Lowell, MA, and died after 1900. She m.(2) 26 Dec 1889, Clinton, MA, Allan A. Bowers, b. ca. 1850, Leominster, MA, son of Thomas O. and Axessa (-----) Bowers.[3]

Children of Horace8 and Ellen L. (Mitchell) Whitney:

i. Hattie May9 Whitney, b. 20 May 1874, Newton, MA;[4] m. 22 Jul 1897, Clinton, MA, Gordon Crossman, b. ca. 1872, NB, son of George and Matilda (-----) Crossman.[5]
