James Gray8 Whitney (Freeman7, Enoch6, Moses5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Freeman7 and Mary S. (Gray) Whitney, was born 20 Dec 1822, Harrison, ME, and died 23 Jan 1905. He is buried in the Harrison Village Cemetery, Harrison, ME.
He married, 3 Jan 1847, Betsey H. Carsley. She was born 5 Jan 1825 or 1823, Harrison, ME, daughter of Seth and Asenath (Cummings) Carsley.
He resided Harrison, ME, in the censuses of 1850 through 1900. He was a prosperous farmer and prominent citizen.
