Jerome Blake7 Whitney (Simeon Howard6, Abraham5, Abraham4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Simeon Howard6 and Nancy (Barnard) Whitney,[1] was born 3 Apr 1812, Bolton, MA,[2] and died 29 Jul 1896, Leominster, MA, aged 84 years 3 months 26 days, of apoplexy, farmer, born in Bolton, son of Simon Whitney and Nancy Barnard.[3]

Intentions of marriage were published 31 Dec 1836, Pepperell, MA, for him and Alvyra H. Hoar.[4] He married, 19 Jan 1837, Boxborough, MA, "Miss" Elvira H. Hoar, "both of Pepperell".[5] In her birth record she was Harriot Elvira Hoar, so her name was probably Harriet Elvira Hoar, daughter of John and Mary (Putnam) Hoar. She was born 7 Nov 1816, Littleton, MA,[6] and died 21 Mar 1897, Boxborough, MA, aged 80 years 4 months 14 days, of valvular heart disease and La Grippe.[7] They are both buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Acton, MA with their daughter Josephine.

i. Harriet E.8 Whitney, b. ca. 1837, Pepperell, MA; d. 23 Jul 1920; m. 6 Nov 1859, Littleton, MA, Ephraim Cobleigh, b. ca. 1831, Boxborough, MA, son of John and Caroline (-----) Cobleigh.[8] In 1870 she was living with her parents, using surname "Whitney".
ii. Josephine M. Whitney, b. 1839, Acton, MA; d. 11 Feb 1841, Pepperell, MA, aged 19 months, of scarlet fever.[9]
iii. Ora J. Whitney, b. ca. 1842, or Jun 1846, Pepperell, MA; m. 5 Oct 1906, Boston, MA, Samuel R. Myers, b. ca. 1834, England, son of Michael and Elizabeth (Jacobs) Myers.[10]
