John8 Whitney (Silas7, Solomon6, Solomon5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Silas7 and Hopestill (Sargent) Whitney, was born 25 Dec 1800, Thornton, NH,[1] and died 14 Jan 1871, Boston, MA, aged 70 years, of fatty degeneration of heart, resided 597 Tremont Street, millwright, born Peabody.[2]

He "of Franconia, N.H." married 29 or 30 Nov 1831, Danvers, MA,[3] Maria Shed, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Twiss)(Needham) Shed.[4] She was born 29 Jan 1810, South Danvers, MA,[5] and died 5 Apr 1865, South Danvers, MA, aged 55 years 2 months, of billious cholic, married, daughter of Joseph and Mary Shed.[6]
