He married, about 1830, NY, Nancy Ann -----. She was born 1807, and died 1869, Galt, Sacramento Co., CA.

Family moved from New York between 1830 when twin sons were born and 1834 to Illinois where 4 daughters were born 1834-1849 to Grant County, Wisconsin by 1848, and then to Sacramento Co., California by 1866.

iii.	Charlotte E. Whitney, b. Mar 1834, IL; d. 1904, CA; m. 12 Feb 1852, Grant, WI, Samuel C. or Leming C. Wilson. Her headstone says she was the mother of Janet and Francis Wilson.
iv.	Margaret Adelia Whitney, b. Nov 1835, IL; d. after 1914, CA; m. 14 Oct 1858, Smelser, WI, Preston Marion Bray.
v.	Susan Amanda Whitney, b. 30 Mar 1839, IL; d. 26 Apr 1915, Berkeley, Alameda, CA; m. 20 Nov 1856, Smelser, Grant Co., WI, Peter Joseph Henry Overwater. They were the parents of 6 children.
vi.	Nancy Ann Whitney, b. 10 Oct 1840, IL; d. 26 May 1928, Fallon, Churchill, NV; m. 25 Oct 1860, Smelser, Grant Co., WI, James Merritt "J.M." Sanford. They were pioneers in Stillwater, now Fallon, Churchill Co., NV, arriving in the Lahontan Valley in 1861. They were the parents of twelve children born between 1863 and 1885.
