He is buried at Mount Tabor Cemetery, Liberty Township, Delaware County, Indiana.
He married, 3 Aug 1889, Delaware County, Indiana, Minnie Carolyn Waldo, daughter of James and Isabelle Dean (Hopping) Waldo. She was born Apr 1869 and died 1947, Delaware County, Indiana. She is buried at Mount Tabor Cemetery, Liberty Township, Delaware County, Indiana.

i. Roscoe C.10 Whitney, b. 20 Apr 1890, Indiana; d. Mar 1969, Indiana; m.(1) 18 Jan 1912, Delaware County, Indiana, Lena G. Lennon. She was born 1895, Indiana. He m.(2) 1 Oct 1935, Indiana, Mary Black. Roscoe Whitney was given a horse by his father. He ran a dairy near Muncie, Indiana, always using horses to deliver milk to customers. After closing the dairy, Roscoe became a cabinetmaker. Children by first wife: 1. Robert Lennon11 Whitney, b. 16 Feb 1913, Indiana; d. 22 Feb 2000, Kentucky. He worked on his father's dairy farm and ran William A. Ball's horse stables where he developed his first world champion. In 1955, he bouth his own horse farm near Bardstown, Kentucky, where he became a nationally known horse breeder and showman. 2. Walter Rex Whitney, b. 12 Oct 1914, Indiana; d. 4 Dec 1981. He was also a nationally known breeder and trainer of thoroughbred racehorses. He was in charge of all brood mares at Delray Training Center, Delray Beach, Florida. 3. Richard Lee "Dick" Whitney, b. 30 Nov 1919. He was a pilot. He has flown professionally since 1935 as a corporate flyer and crop duster. During World War II he was a flight instructor.
ii. Doris Virginia Whitney, b. 26 Dec 1905, Indiana; d. 24 Feb 1999, Muncie, Indiana; m. 12 Jun 1924, Indiana, Edward Zetterberg. He wass b. 29 Jan 1898, and died Apr 1977, Muncie, Indiana. Children: 1. Nelson Zetterberg; m. Doris Becker. 2. Betty Zetterberg; b. 26 Nov 1928, Indiana; d. 7 May 2004, Muncie, Indiana; m.(1) Robert E. Duport. He was b. 9 Dec 1926, and d. May 1985, Indiana. She m.(2) Robert Risinger. He was b. 31 Mar 1918, and d. 8 Aug 1997, Indiana. She m.(3) Donald Kirk.
