He married, 31 Aug 1887, Arapahoe, NE, Samantha Belle Prime, daughter of George Smith and Ann Elizabeth (Anderson) Prime. She was born 5 Sep 1859, IA, and died 14 Jun 1954, Santa Clara, CA.

William graduated 1884 State University of Iowa Law School, Iowa City, Iowa. Practiced law in Beaver City, Nebraska.

She resided 2466 Tasso St., Palo Alto, CA, from 1940 to 1946.
