Got all 8467 individuals and 2939 marriages without a problem, except the following: "This gedcom file was created as gedcom version 5 format. Brother's Keeper [my software] will NOT import the NOTE lines unless the file is gedcom version 4 instead." I went ahead anyway and it looks OK so perhaps this explains other's problems: apparently there are different VERSIONS of gedcom which some software has trouble reading and importing completely.
