Edwin Goldsmith8 Whitney (Jacob7, Jacob6, Abraham5, Abraham4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Jacob7 and Maria (Goldsmith) Whitney, was born 30 Nov 1812, and died 3 Dec 1880, Madison, IN.
He married, Jul 1834, Maria Carver.
He was for many years president of First National bank there; very wealthy and influential all along the Ohio river in the active early years of developments in that region. He resided Madison, IN.
Children of Edwin Goldsmith8 and Maria (Carver) Whitney:
i. Brainard W.9 Whitney, b. ca. 1843, IN; resided New York City. ii. Rowland Whitney, b. ca. 1846, IN.
