Oliver Cromwell⁹ Whitney (Nathan⁸, David⁷, Silas⁶, David⁵, Benjamin⁴, Thomas³, Thomas², John¹), son of Nathan⁸ and Abigail⁸ (Whitney) Whitney, was born 26 Apr 1826, Swanton, VT.

He married firstly, 11 Oct 1849, Sheldon, VT, Harriett R. Williams. She was born 3 May 1829, and died 31 Mar 1854, Galena, IL.

He married secondly, 25 Dec 1854, Galena, IL, Josephine A. Parnell. She was born 6 Aug 1836, England, and died 31 Jan 1888.

He resided Sheldon, VT, Galena, IL, and White Cloud, KS.
