Cheeney7 Whitney (Nathan6, Jonathan5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), born Seneca, New York, 21 Apr 1795; married there 26 Jun 1817; Olive Colwell; born Mar. 19, 1801; died 28 Apr 1886.
He was born at Seneca Castle, New York, the seventh child of Nathan and Olive (Whitney) Whitney and died in his 91st year. Had he been spared a little longer he would have celebrated the sixty-ninth anniversary of his wedding. His life and character are worthy of emulation. He united with the Presbyterian church in 1831, from that time adorned the profession he made by a humble, kindly, cheerful, and most devout life. He was honored and beloved by the entire community who accorded to him the affectionate title of Uncle Cheeney. He was interested in everything that pertained to the moral and spiritual welfare of others. Was a farmer on a large scale. In 1831 she untied with the Presbyterian church and evr after was a devout member. He died 10 Feb 1886; resided Seneca, New York.

Hachaliah Whitney, born 30 Aug 1823; married Matilda Vrooman and Hannah C. Stevens. iv. Sidney Whitney, born 20 Aug 1824; married Amelia Van Gelder. v. Clarissa Whitney, born 16 Dec 1826; married 28 Oct 1847, John DE Graff, born Apr. 28, 1825; died 7 Jan 1893. She died 1 Apr 1876. - Ch.: Florence, born 19 Aug 1860; married 2 Mar 1893, Issac Clarke.
vi. Sophronia B. Whitney, born 26 Oct 1828; married 1 Sep 1852, Willard Mcgregory, born 1824. - Ch.: Willie, born 24 Aug 1859; resided South Pasadena, California.
vii. Byron Whitney, born 4 Sep 1830; married Mary C. Lesson. viii. Emogene Whitney, born 24 Oct 1833; died 9 May 1853. ix. Cheeney P. Whitney, born 10 Jun 1836; married Mary C. Chapman.
