Joseph8 Whitney (Josiah7, Josiah6, Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), born 25 Mar 1811; married 23 Feb 1841, Mary Abbott Newcomb, born 27 Jan 1820.
He was born at Nelson, New Hampshire; is a farmer; has been superintendent of schools, town clerk and selectman; resided Sullivan, New Hampshire.
Children of Joseph8 Whitney:
i. Ransel N.9 Whitney, born Mar 18, 1842. ii. Laurette A. Whitney, born 12 Dec 1847. iii. Scolley J. Whitney, born 29 Sep 1853; died 1 Jun 1856.
