Benjamin Franklin7 Whitney (Palmer6, Joseph5, Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Palmer6 and Judith (Barber) Whitney; born Java, New York, 19 Oct 1818; married there 20 Nov 1840, Lucinda Potter, 21 born Nov 1821.

He was born in Java Village, New York, and has always lived upon a farm. Followed agricultural pursuits in Illinois until he moved to Coin. Resided Coin, Page County, Iowa.

Children of Benjamin Franklin7 and Lucinda (Potter) Whitney:

i. Ann E.8 Whitney, born 15 Aug 1841; married 20 Nov 1867, F. R. Sebolt; resided Coin.

ii. Emma E. Whitney, born 12 Nov 1842; died 12 Oct 1844.
iii. Mary A. Whitney, born 14 Nov 1845; died 24 Nov 1856.
iv. Harry F. Whitney, born 10 Nov 1847; married Maggie Shields Hanna.
v. Clara C. Whitney, born 9 Apr 1850; married 28 Nov 1873, ----- King; resided Coin.
Ch.: Elton, Roy, Flory, Valentine, Theron and Herman.
vi. Eva L. Whitney, born 1 Feb 1852; married 10 Nov 1874,----- McLeod; resided Coin.
Ch.: Jessie, Hollie, Nina, Frank, Grace and Merle.
vii. Henry Foster Whitney, born 2 May 1856; died 8 Jan 1879.
viii. Freddie Warren Whitney, born 17 Jul 1861; died Mar., 1862.
