Edwin Goldsmith8 Whitney (Jacob7, Jacob6, Abraham5, Abraham4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Jacob7 and Maria (Goldsmith) Whitney, was born 30 Nov 1812, and died 3 Dec 1880, Madison, IN.

He married, Jul 1834, Maria Carver. She was born about 1814, PA, and died after 1870.

He was for many years president of First National bank there; very wealthy and influential all along the Ohio river in the active early years of developments in that region. He resided Madison, IN.
