Phineas7 Whitney (Reuben6, Phineas5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Reuben6 and Lucy (Sawyer) Whitney, was born 8 Sep 1822, Norridgewock, ME, and died 10 Aug 1857, Lewiston, ME, "from Jay".[1]

He married, 1 Jan 1845, Jay, ME, Melvina Amanda Bean, daughter of James and Eunice (Taylor) Bean. She was born 27 Nov 1824, Jay, ME, and died 9 Jan 1881, Lawrence, MA. She "Amanda" married secondly, 14 Dec 1861, Jay, ME, Jefferson J. Adams. He died 8 Jan 1864, Barracks General Hospital, New Orleans, LA. Amanda then cohabited with Benjamin Hatch.
