He died in 1851, leaving a widow and several small children, viz., Chester, Otis and Emeline. In 1853 the children went to live with their uncle Baxter in Vermont. He died 1851; resided Shockoken, Illinois.

Solon8 Whitney (Chester7, Aaron6, Nathan5, Nathan4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Chester7 and Polly Waite (Green) Whitney, was born 1810, Waterbury, VT, and died 1851, Shockoken, IL.

He married firstly, 15 Jan 1833, Stowe, VT, Lucy B. Noble.[1] She died about 1835.

He married secondly, Emeline Butler. She was born about 1814, NY, and died 1852.

He was born in Waterbury, VT, about 1810, and moved from that state to Illinois about 1835, where he was engaged in farming near Shockoken, in Henderson county, across the Mississippi river from Burlington, IA.
