Josiah7 Whitney (Moses Gill6, Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Moses Gill6 and Ann (Shields) Whitney, was born 12 Mar 1815, Whitingham, VT,[1] and died 11 Mar 1877, Bennington, VT, aged 62 years, of dropsy.

He married, 8 Oct 1837, Greenfield, MA, Sarah Moody Dickinson,[2] daughter of Lucius and Rebecca (Wait) Dickinson. She was born 20 Jun 1820, Greenfield, MA, and died 4 Jun 1901, Greenfield, MA, aged 80 years 11 months 15 days, of senile heart.[3]
