Asa Whitney, parentage unknown but perhaps a son of Ebenezer6 Whitney (Ezekiel5, Ezekiel4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), was born 14 Aug 1804 or 13 Jul 1804 [calculated from gravestone], Pleasant Valley, NY, and died 24 Apr 1863, Sharon, CT, aged 58 years 9 months 11 days. He was buried in South Amenia Cemetery, Amenia, NY.[1]

He married, before 1825, Julia Quick. She was born 4 Jul 1807, and died Jun 1850, Amenia, NY of consumption.

He married secondly, between 1850 and 1860, Margaret -----. She was born about 1810, NY, and died after 1860, and apparently before 1870.

According to family tradition, the Elizabeth Whitney listed with the family in 1850 was Asa's sister.
