James6 Whitney (Samuel5, Samuel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of [[Samuel5 and Hannah (Judson) Whitney, was born 10 Aug 1753, Stratford, CT, and died 21 May 1841, Newtown, CT.
He married firstly, 13 Aug 1777, Newtown, Connecticut, Eunice Johnson. She was born Dec 1756, and died 17 Nov 1822.
He married secondly, Mrs. Rhoda Peet.
He served in the Revolutionary war; was a farmer and weaver. He resided Newtown, Connecticut.
