John5 Whitney (Samuel4, Joshua3, David2, Samuel1), was born 23 Mar 1750, and died 20 Mar 1818, Allen Co., KY.
He married, about 1774, Ann Merritt, daughter of Thomas Merritt. She was born 6 Dec 1758, died 12 Feb 1835, Allen Co., KY.
He resided Halifax Co., NC, 1772-1780, and is first found in South Carolina in 1789.
In 1790 he was living in Pendleton County, SC.
