First, is this the Whitney family you are looking for? Richard, born 1624 in London, Ebenezer, born 1672 in Watertown, Zachariah born 1701 in Concord, MA, Zachariah born 1732 in CT and Zachariah born 1764 in CT. My research began with the one born 1764 married to Elizabeth Seward. Their sons were John, born 1800 in Kortright, NY, Aaron, born 1802, & Zachariah Joseph, born 1810. John married Sabrina Cook. Their sons were George, born 1832, 3 wives but no known descendants; Roderick, born 1837 and killed in the civil war. He did have one son, Rodney, who moved to Canada. I have been told he had 2 living sons, and I am hoping to hear from Canada about them; and John, born 1840. He married Henrietta (Harriet) Dix of Wayne Co., PA. They had 4 known sons, but I have not followed their descendants. I am not in touch with any of the Whitneys. Rodney, the orphan, became a ward of my grandfather's, which is the reason for my interest. I am happy to trace some of these names further if!
