Jacob6 Whitney (Abner5, Jonas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of Abner5 and Esther (Jackson) Whitney; born Springfield, Vermont, 2 May 1784; married Nov 11, 1810, Lucy Adams; born 19 Sep 1792; died May 1873. He was a farmer. He died 30 Apr 1824; resided New Salem, Massachusetts.

Children of Jacob6 and Lucy (Adams) Whitney:

i. Leonard7 Whitney, born 12 Sep 1811; married Abby E. Day.
ii. Louiza Whitney, born 9 Oct 1813; married 11 Dec 1832; Sylvester W. Bangs; resided Ware, Massachusetts; born 14 Sep 1811; died 25 Jul 1884.
Ch.: Martha Elizabeth, born 15 Feb 1834, in Ware; married George Goodwin Hall, 3 Sep 1856; Dwight Whitney, born 3 Mar 1840; died 9 Sep 1842; Jane Louisa, born 14 Jun 1846; married Charles H. Ellis, 3 Sep 1867; died 1 Jul 1877; Licia C., born 3 Aug 1855, in Ware, married George Bliss Cutler, 11 Dec 1882.
iii. Jonas Whitney, born 4 Apr 1816; died 6 Oct 1816.
iv. Jonas Whitney, born 11 Dec 1817; married Mary L. Hunter and resided in Deerfield, Michigan. They were "of Montague" when their unnamed child d. 18 Jul 1843, aged 6 weeks.[1]
v. John B. Whitney, born 19 Sep 1820; married Lucinda Bardwell and Katherine A. Pratt.
vi. Lydia Ann Whitney, born 12 Dec 1822; married 17 Apr 1843, Rufus S. Mixter. They had one son, Frank, who died young.
