Alloway9 Whitney (Bartholomew8, Oliver7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Bartholomew8 and Sarah (Sanford) Whitney, was born Swanton, VT, 23 Mar 1814, and died 4 Sep 1889, Highgate Springs, VT.
He married firstly, 5 Nov 1843, Berkshire, VT, Lorinda Pratt. She was born 18 Jul 1824, and died 4 Mar 1852.
He married secondly, 21 Jul 1852, Franklin, VT, Elizabeth Dewing. She was born 16 Feb 1826.
Alloway Whitney was born in Swanton, VT, and was a child at the time the British under Gen. Prove were defeated at Plattsburgh, NY. He was a farmer and always resided in Franklin.
