He married, East Franklin, VT, 20 Oct 1875, East Franklin, VT, Maria M. Colcord, of Berkshire, VT, daughter of George and Permelia (-----) Colcord.[1] She was born 8 Aug 1856, VT.
Adolphus Dewing Whitney, his son by the second marriage, resides on the home farm in Franklin; was educated in the common schools and Vermont Methodists seminary; married Miss Maria Colcord, of Berkshire, VT, and has five children, the last two were twins, born 25 Jul 1892. Father, mother and children all are singers, being a Whitney gift, runs in the blood. Has bred some fine horses and sold for good money; resided East Franklin, VT.
