Manning7 Whitney (Daniel6, Daniel5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Daniel6 and Sarah (Durant) Whitney, was born 8 Sep 1795, Stow, MA,[1] and died 24 Jun 1841, Gainsville, AL, aged 45 years 9 months 18 days.

He married, 26 Dec 1819, Franconia, NH, Dolly Brooks,[2] daughter of Luke and Suza (Smith) Brooks. She was born 18 Nov 1795, Stow, MA, and died 5 Aug 1881, Franconia, NH, aged 85 years 8 months 17 days.

"MANNING WHITNEY came to this town from Stowe, Mass, in 1818, locating on road 22. He married Dolly Brooks, in 1818, and reared a family of six children, namely, Emeline, Daniel, Henry B., Lydia, Jane and Sally H. He died in Alabama in 1841. Henry B. and Daniel still live in the town."[3]
