Joel7 Whitney (Joel6, Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Joel6 and Lydia (Willard) Whitney, was born 29 Feb 1792, Fitzwilliam, NH, and died between 1850 and 1860, OH.
He married, OH, Elizabeth -----. She was born about 1787, PA, and died between 1850 and 1860, OH.
He served in the war of 1812, was captured by the British and taken to England; he finally returned and settled in Ohio, where he married and afterwards resided. He was a farmer, and resided OH.
Children of Joel7 and Elizabeth (-----) Whitney:
i. (daughter)8 Whitney, b. 1820-1825; living 1830, not in family in 1840. Possibly she was married by that time. ii. Lemuel Whitney, b. ca. 1823, OH; d. after 1860. iii. Lydia Whitney, b. ca. 1827, OH; m. before 1860, John Jounell.
