Reuben6 Whitney (Richard5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), born Harvard, 21, 1758; married Lucy Fairbank; born 24 Mar 1764.

He was born in Harvard and worked on his father's farm. When but eighteen years of age he enlisted in the Revolutionary army in the company of Capt. Sargent of Princeton, and regiment commanded by Colorado. Stearns of Lunenburg. This was assigned to a special brigade which was raised to repulse the advance of Sir Henry Clinton in Rhode Island. He was selectman in 1801, 1804 and 1805; resided Harvard, Massachusetts.

i. Lucy7 Whitney, born 24 Jan 1782.
ii. Reuben Whitney, born 11 Aug 1783; married Milley Pollard.
iii. Mercy Fairbank Whitney, born 25 Jul 1786.
iv. Zimri Whitney, born 29 May 1795.
