Judge Lemuel6 Whitney (Ephraim5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Ephraim5 and Marcy (Winslow) Whitney, was born 18 Oct 1764, Petersham, MA, and died 17 Apr 1847, Brattleboro, VT.
He married, 6 Sep 1787, Petersham, MA, Lydia Bryant. She was born 1767, and died 27 May 1800, Springfield, MA.
Hon. Lemuel Whitney was born in Petersham, MA. He moved to Vermont in 1785, and first resided in Newfane, where he was sheriff of the county and one of the prominent men in that part of the state.
