William H.8 Whitney (James Jefferson7, James6, Richard5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of James Jefferson7 and Emma Bethiah (Follett) Whitney, was born 17 Jul 1844, Fitchburg, MA,[1], and died 28 Dec 1913, Leominster, MA, aged 71 years 5 months 11 days, of cirrhosis of the liver.[2]

He married firstly, before 1870, Lizzie Edna Follansbee, daughter of John and Hannah H. (-----) Follansbee. She was born about 7 Dec 1849, Providence, RI, and died 14 Aug 1880, Fitchburg, MA, aged 30 years 8 months 7 days, of epilepsy.[3]

He married secondly, about 1882, Henrietta E. Heald, daughter of William H. and Elizabeth C. (Manning) Heald. She was born 31 Dec 1861, Templeton, MA, and died after 1913.
